List of Events for 2006

January 8 thru March 26 -Come Have a Ball on the Beach Treasures are waiting to be discovered on the North Beaches of the Washington Coast! Beachcombing has been a long standing tradition for local residents on Washington beaches and now here is your chance to join in the merry chase to discover one of the hundreds of glass floats hidden along the coast from Moclips to Ocean Shores. Sponsored by the Washington Coast Chamber of Commerce and the Quinault Beach Casino and Resort, this special event takes looking for buried treasure out of the past and brings it into the future for everyone to enjoy. It's affordable and fun for the whole family. Join hundreds of beachcombers as they race to find one of the unique blown glass floats in wonderful shades of blue and green.

This year the event will begin Jan. 8th. The search for glass balls is an on going event through March 26. There will be 3 plantings of balls. Beginning Jan. 8th, another in February and another in March. The balls are planted between Damon Rd (Best Western Lighthouse Suites Inn) and Moclips River in Moclips. So bring the family and Come have a ball on the North Beach!

April 8 State Route 109 Garage Sale This garage sale takes place from Hoquiam to Moclips, along State Route 109. Streets leading off of 109 are also included. Businesses and residents are all invited to participate. This is a way for the Washington Coast Chamber of Commerce to help all community members. ADVERTISING is provided by the Washington Coast Chamber of Commerce.

May 13-14 Sandcastle Building Contest in Pacific Beach This event takes place in Pacific Beach. Sculpture and Castle Divisions. Teams or Individual. Juvenile and adult classes. Cash prizes.

Jun 3-4 - International Kite Challenge in Ocean Shores The International Kite Challenge takes place every year in Ocean Shores, WA. Included at this event are free kite flying lessons, stunt kite competitions and more.

July 4 Fire O'er the Water This event takes place on the beach in Ocean City at dusk. It is a day full of fireworks, chain saw carving contests, kite flying, vendors of all kinds ! Please click here to read the history behind this event.

Dixieland Jazz Festival This annual jazz festival takes place at a number of Ocean Shores venues. Visitors have the chance to see a variety of national jazz performers as well as surprise parades.

September 2-4 Shake Rat & Kelpers Festival Pacific Beach This event takes place in Pacific Beach and Moclips. There is a zany parade plus a kiddy's parade, vendors, street dance and much more. Please click here to read more.

September 10-12 Up Your Wind Kite Festival Pacific Beach This event takes place in Pacific Beach. competition of all kinds. Jr. Precision, Power Pull, Mystery Ballet, Lighted Night Flight and more. Prizes! Fun for all ages.
